We have 15 leather dog collars in four models: Plain, Imperial, Twisted and waterproof nubuck. They are made from cowhide, with brass buckles and rings. You choose the size from the measured neck, and below you can see how.

How to measure the neck and choose a collar size

Your dog stands up, relaxed. Run the tape where the collar sits, just below the ears and above the shoulders, snug against the skin. Look up that number in the collar's size table. In Plain, for example, S covers necks of 26–33 cm, M 33–39 cm and L 37–45 cm. Choose the size where your number falls roughly in the middle of the range, and the buckle holes leave room for adjustment.

A well-fitting collar does not slip over the head when you pull it gently toward the ears. If your dog's neck is between two sizes, take the bigger one and close it on the first hole. Tables for all models and breed recommendations are in the size guide.

Types of leather collars

  • Plain: through-dyed leather with a soft lining, from XXS to XXL. Colours: Dark Moss, Earth, Chili, Amber, Sky, Lavender, Sand and Noir.
  • Imperial Florence: waxed dark brown leather with a red and green cotton band, from XXS to L.
  • Twisted: hand-braided leather with a round profile, from XS to XXL depending on the colour, with a small ring for a tag.
  • Nubuck: waterproof, for walks in the rain, in Pistachio and Chocolate, from XS to XL.

Leather, buckles and care

In Plain, the through-dyed leather keeps its colour, and the edges are folded and stitched. The buckle and D ring are brass; you clip the leash to the D ring. The width grows with the size, from 1.7 cm at XXS and XS up to 4 cm at XXL, in Plain.

Wipe the collar with a damp cloth, then a dry one. Feed it with leather balm now and then. Keep it away from excess moisture, and let nubuck air dry after rain. The collars go with our leashes and harnesses in the same colours.

Frequently asked questions

Which collar size for a small dog?

Measure the neck instead of going by size class. In Plain, XXS covers 17.5–21.5 cm, XS 20.5–27.5 cm and S 26–33 cm.

What if the neck falls between two sizes?

Take the bigger size and close it on the first hole. If it still does not tighten enough, the smaller size was the right one.

How do I choose a size for a growing dog?

Take the bigger size and measure him again in two months. When the collar only closes on the last hole, move up to the next size.

Can I attach a tag or an AirTag to the collar?

Yes. Twisted collars have a small ring for a tag, and the AirTag holder clips to the D ring. We recommend it on collars from size M up.

Can a leather collar get wet?

Nubuck collars are waterproof. For the others, keep them away from excess moisture and from swimming.
