Balm for a dry, cracked nose

The nose is the only patch of hairless skin a dog exposes all the time: to wind, to dry air from the radiator, to hot asphalt, to every sniff through the grass. When it dries out, the nose turns dull and rough, then scales, crusts or fine cracks appear.

The balm is a thick formula, based on candelilla wax and plant oils. It melts at skin temperature and stays on the surface: it moisturises the dry layer, keeps it supple and forms a barrier that protects the nose. On skin that's already cracked, it softens the crusts and reduces the discomfort.

Use it when you see the nose dry, rough or with deposits. As it returns to its normal texture, space out the applications and keep it for occasional upkeep. It's easiest to apply in the evening, before bed: the dog is settled, and the balm stays on the skin for hours without being licked off straight away.

This is a cosmetic product for skin care, not a medicine. If the nose bleeds, loses colour, changes shape, or if its condition doesn't improve, consult your vet.
